New York State Police issued an alert for Pleasant Valley resident Jennifer Voltz, 25, who is wanted on charges that include petit larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument dating back to an incident in Union Vale in May last year.
According to police, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, troopers were dispatched to a Union Vale residence, where there was a reported burglary. Police said that the homeowner reported to responding troopers that someone had forcibly entered a barn on his property, stealing laundry detergent and motor vehicle supplies.
Surveillance video in the area would later show that three suspects, including Voltz, had been on the property, breaking in, the day before, on Tuesday.
Later that day, at approximately 5 p.m., a second emergency call was placed to Dutchess County 911 after the homeowner spotted one of the suspect’s blue Dodge pick-up truck that had returned to his property and was in the process of stealing more items.
Police said that when the suspects spotted the homeowner observing them, they fled the scene, heading westbound on Camby Road. Despite a multi-agency search, neither state police nor members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office were able to track down the truck or suspects.
Over the following weekend, state police were called to a residence in the Town of LaGrange, where there was another reported larceny, where a weedwhacker had been delivered to a home but the package was never received. According to police, an investigation into that larceny determined that a blue Dodge, occupied by Voltz and a co-conspirator, had been in the victim’s driveway the day the tool was to be delivered, and the latter stole the item.
When she was arrested, Voltz was allegedly in possession of crack cocaine and heroin. She later failed to appear for court proceedings in February this year and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest by the Union Vale Court.
Police described Voltz as a 5-foot-9 white female who weighed 135 pounds at the time of her arrest. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts have been asked to contact New York State Police investigators by calling (845) 677-7300 or emailing CrimeTip@troopers.ny.gov.
